Blooming marvellous – if you have bunches of daffodils or other spring bulbs growing too close together, now is the time to split them up and spread them around more evenly. Why not grow them in pots so that you can move them around the garden or even give them as a gift when the time is right?
Bank holiday BBQs – with some of the UK celebrating two bank holidays in May, it’s the ideal time to dig out the BBQ and invite friends and family around. Burgers and sausages might be BBQ staples, but why not try grilling some chicken skewers? Simply cut the chicken into chunks, thread it on the skewers and add peppers, onions and mushrooms. Baste with oil, season well and pretty soon you’ll have a deliciously healthy main course option to wow your guests.
Colour blocks – do you want to add some colour to your plot, but don’t want to get your hands dirty? Try adding some bold accessories! From deckchairs with bright fabrics, to seat cushions in an array of trendy patterns, to unusual or upcycled containers, you can add a bit of flair in a variety of ways. If you want to make a feature of a wall or fence panel, simply add a splash of bright paint or put up a piece of trellis where you can hang lots of brightly coloured pots.
